To celebrate their 20th anniversary, London/Essex funk band Pier 59 present a spectacular re-recording of the 1999 cult-classic Sitting on Top of the World. Always a highlight of their live set, performed at legendary London venues including The Jazz Cafe, Dingwalls and The Falcon, the track even became an international smash thanks to a legion of fans in northern Europe. Two decades on, the songwriter and producer - now of Natura Cinematica - set about reconstructing the arrangement in more of a live 90s R&B vibe with the help of West Coast drumming sensation Jermaine Poindexter, fresh from Ariana Grande's Sweetener Tour. Original lead vocalist Nicola Gawthrop and guitarist Chris Andrews are featured on this new recording which was produced during the lockdown period of 2020. With thanks to Lee Sparey @ Grooveyard.
